What do we wear?
Why are you so much cheaper?
Q & A
I prefer the word affordable ;) Mainly because I have little overhead and because I love doing it, so my prices feels fair to me.
Also, I started a community Facebook page that connects those that want to "pay it forward" to those people needing a little kindness. The whole idea spurred and inspired me to use my time and resources toward photography. Coupling my passion with.... my other passion. Please look into CDA CRAZY LOVE on Facebook and see how you can make a difference. I am always more than willing, and happy to donate my services toward fundraisers. If I can help - let me know!
This is a very common question. I suggest avoiding words, logos and characters on children's clothing. You want the focus to be your little one, not SpongeBob. As for families, some like to match their clothing - I prefer coordinating the overall look, but not too matchy matchy. Think - earth tones with splashes of color. And don't forget to accessorize. This can be the area you add your color and pull everything together. Scarves, belts, ties, jewelry, hats and shoes, etc. Also for families, try to be consistent. Be aware of the casual-ness or fanciness of the look. Mom shouldn't be in an evening dress if Dad is in a tee and jeans.
I also like to recommend layers - a cardigan, a vest, a sweater, a scarf can be removed halfway through your session and give your pictures a lot more variety. Like two sessions in one!
Really, my best piece of advice is to remember, these are YOUR pictures and you and your family should wear what you like and what you feel comfortable in. If you are doing a themed session and need some help with wardrobe ideas - ask me. I can always email you some examples or I may have things for you to use.
Yes, I have some props. I have miscellaneous items that can be used at any location. Unique chairs, stools, old trunks, suitcases, wooden apple boxes, antique egg baskets, quilts, wagons, ladders, vintage bicycles, parasols, vintage desks, wooden rocking horse...etc
I have a selection of accessories for children (and various Matilda Jane dresses for girls) hats, scarves, jewelry, hair bows, flowers...etc.
I also have a beautiful, handcrafted, wooden boat that is great for engagement pictures as well as a few classic and vintage automobiles. There is an additional fee for use and/or delivery of these large items.
Anyone who knows me is laughing at this question. I can't say no to a dog. Not only is Fido welcome, I may try to take him home with me. However, not all locations are dog friendly, so be sure to ask first.

Do you have props?

Can we bring our dog?
